I ordered my Rivian and GMC just came out with 0 for 60 month financing on the Hummer which was the other vehicle I was going in between.
Wait-what?!! You got the Rivian instead of the Hummer? And you didn't tell me? My feelings are hurt!

The 1K deposit was a contract. Why do you think you don't have to honor your commitments to your benefit? If Rivian raised the price on all shop cars by 3K would you be pissed off if they raised their price on your preorder? Of course, you would.
LOL, I don’t have a locked in price, they have a right to increase the price on my custom order.

Have you ever owned or run a service business?

You think it’s a good idea to upset a customer that is spending $100k over $250 dollars? That is 1/4 of a percentage of purchase price.

Yes I ordered a vehicle and agreed my money is non refundable. I never asked for a refund. I ask to have it applied to a new purchase.

They said no. That is fine. They have pissed off a customer over $250 dollars. 1/4 of a percent.

The person who agreed to a non refundable deposit can now order another vehicle. Save $2750, my friend saves $750. I don’t have any incentive to cancel my custom order. I can cancel after inspection. Math $3000 - $1000 + $750 referral + friend $750

This is drastically different from just canceling the order. I understand no refund if you cancel.

I am not the CEO of Rivian. They can do what they want but, I don’t think there is a business school in the country that would at this is a smart policy.

My deposit was only $1k

Your deposit is $3k but if you by from shop you and friend each get $750

Probably not worth the hassle unless you get the vehicle a lot sooner.

In my case I save $2750. Plus my friend gets $740. So it’s a no brainer to walk away from custom order.

I will just say I'm familiar with customer service businesses and have a business degree as one of my degrees. You're in the wrong here, you aren't entitled to extra money off simply because it was offered AFTER you placed your order. Honestly, if it's only 250 dollars and you're throwing this big of a tantrum over it Rivian is better off not having you as a customer.

Certain people have a terribly entitled attitude and if Rivian acquiesced to your demand here you're just going to get the vehicle then badmouth it over something else. That's the thing about people making unreasonable demands, they don't get satisified when you cave into their demands, they just ask for something else. If you can't see Rivian's side here or where you're wrong I'm afraid you fall into that category.

I'll recommend a book I used to read to my son as a child to maybe shed some light on this situation for you.

This is true for just about everything you order. The contract also protects you from price hikes, and Rivian honored that with many reservation holders, myself included. I would say that since Rivian honored all those pre-orders to their detriment, I would expect them to hold their customers to the same standards.
It was not honoring to their detriment. It was honoring to their benefit.

Yeah, but they honored all the preorders of gen 1 trucks to their detriment. The point is, they honored their agreement then and now a few of you expect them to do it again continuously but this time it would be forgetting an agreement.

I’m not in the wrong. You’re the one that thinks I have a locked in price. I don’t.

I have ever right to ask then to apply my deposit to a different purchase. As a matter of fact the club when you submit says it’s none refundable, it does not say it cannot be applied to another vehicle.

I’m glad you have a business degree. I glad you have other degrees. I’m glad your are sharing your statements with 100% conferences. I’m glad you know Rivian is better off without me.

Maybe you are right. Maybe I should write off the $1000 cancel order and then order a lucid gravity on Nov 7.

You are so fast to point out people who think they are entitled. LOL.

If I wasn’t sitting on a plane I would not be wasting time arguing with someone who is so arrogant and right and can read and understand the world better than anyone else.

Good luck in life.

You just refuse to listen. The price is not locked in. They can increase the price after I ordered, stated in the agreement. So if they can increase should they not also honor a decrease?

I know that is me just being entitled. I know I’m wrong.

I haven’t said they are wrong. I said it’s fool business policy.

Not if it's meant to weed out entitled and unreasonable customers. If that was it's intent I'd say it's working. This isn't a price increase it's an incentive to entice new orders. Your's is NOT a new order, it's an existing order. Rivian needs to reach profitability and they aren't going to do that giving money away for no reason.

Whatever (how you are suppose to respond to a narcissist). It’s all about you Donald.
How am I a narcissist? Did you get a word of the day calendar, and are you trying it out? Keep making personal insults and throwing a tantrum; that's doing a great job refuting my assertion that you're being unreasonable.
