How is the firmware different? Definitely understand the bracket and wiring is unique. Curious to see what the firmware offers that’s unique to the Rivian.

I would have been interested if I didn’t already buy the Dogfish one.

Firmware optimized for logical, intuitive, and easy setup. Boot sequence fast and automatic CarPlay launching. The menu and setup is super easy. No unnecessary complexity or poorly labeled settings that cause confusion. Small details, like when ours boots up it shows a Rivian, not some random Lamborghini or whatever. Connectivity settings greatly simplified. ??

very cool. Man maybe I should trade this one in. Any chance I could send you mine for some credit towards your version? Or just “upgrade” mine and send back for a fee? Sounds like that firmware would solve some of my issues.

Also, does your version still have the dash cam in it?

Does the reverse cam input still work with your firmware? I used it for towing a camper and was very handy for that.

Ha, thanks - there are a lot of manufacturers of the screens, even though they look similar. So we can't update yours unfortunately.

I'd love to see the mount design when you have it

here’s my final (for now) bracket. Clips in nicely to the dash under the dash pad and you can put it wherever you like left to right. I put mine closer to the driver.

I had two iterations, one is more straight with the Rivian screen, but it was tilted back too far for my liking. So I modified the bracket to tilt it more forward and closer to level (about 5 degrees back tilt). Still might adjust the left right tilt some to tilt towards driver slightly. But for now I’ll try this out and see how I like it in the wild.

I’ll gladly share the CAD files for anyone who wants to make their own or make mods to mine. I did it in Creo but can send a STEP or STL.
