Just put 4 new tires on my R1S in October, today a screw ended the life of that tire mighty quickly. It was deemed too close to the sidewall for repair. Time to test out Tirerack.com's road hazard warranty.

Do you live near a screw and nail factory?

I used tirerack warranty before and they reimburse after submit your receipt. There is a toll free number to call. They need some info from tire shop to make sure that the tire is not repairable.

I'd pull it out and plug the hole myself.

That is a tough one, a plug might hold, a patch probably would not. I assume you took some soapy water and verified it actually penetrated the tire, it is on a meaty section you may get lucky.

I had what looked like a metal bar in one of my tires, I took it to America’s tire to make sure they had a tire in stock, then pulled it out, ended up being 1/3rd of a penny that embedded in the meaty part of the tire but did not go through.

If they won't replace it under the road hazard warranty, plug it. I wouldn't replace it, plugging it works perfectly fine.

How you do get $.00333 jammed into a tire?
