Any activity in the Austin, TX area?

I was out there earlier and I was surprisingly able to test drive an R1T. Didn’t realize they were offering that to people until one of the staff asked me if I had already preordered, which I told him I preordered Dec 2021 with a Feb-Mar estimated delivery date.

It was only a quick 5 minute test drive but it was my first time driving an EV so it was nice to get a feel for the regenerative braking.

I did my first mile drive in the Compass Yellow R1T last week at the Austin SC, so I assume these are the local demo trucks? Super excited for my Feb/Mar delivery -

Awesome, thanks for that feedback! I'll definitely make a point to hit the Plano event to hopefully see Compass Yellow.

I was suspecting that these vehicles might be touring since the Austin and Plano events were back to back weekends instead of on the same day. Your plates observation would suggest the same.

Was the event "view only" with vehicles behind ropes or were they open to sit in like the vehicles at the Venice hub?

Everything was open so that you could see in / sit in each of the trucks. They even had one R1T that they were letting folks take short test drives. However, the "RSVP" was interesting. When I got there, there were people to check you in, but nothing at all to keep random passers by to check things out too. Doubt the uninvited were allowed to test drive, but who knows? It was very crowded, but that's South Congress in Austin too. I did not stay long because the crowds made it tough to take a good look. But I also had a First Drive scheduled 3 days later, so I wasn't too motivated.

Thanks, sounds about like what I was expecting. I've already had my test drive but, weather permitting, planning to stop by for another Rivian fix while I continue to wait for delivery.

I'm in Northwest hills, so not as far north as you. I have used Klock Electric and Armadillo Electric. Both are good, I just can't recall which I used for my charger install.

Thanks. I ended up reaching out to Grayzer after some googling yesterday. They seemed to have good reviews on google and it looks like they just do ev charger installs. They got back to me right away with a quote and I think I’ll probably end up using them.

Picked up my Limestone R1T yesterday at the Austin SC, got in on the year end push! Stopped at Crown & Anchor for a burger after and met another local R1T owner (White/21s/RTT on rails) ?

Mike Gingolaski with Superior Electric did mine. He's done a lot of work for me and does a great job.

Sorry I don't have a recommendation... just wanted to say good luck today. My R1S is still traveling down to Austin.... Guide texted me this morning saying it's on the way and currently in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.

Another local owner recommended Austin Detailing for PPF, haven’t used personally but saved the info. Let’s us know if you use them or someone else, need to get my front done at a minimum…
