Any activity in the Austin, TX area?

Another local owner recommended Austin Detailing for PPF, haven’t used personally but saved the info. Let’s us know if you use them or someone else, need to get my front done at a minimum…

I am in San Antonio and have had multiple vehicles have PPF installed. Installers are really hit or miss, and I had a really bad install in my Model 3 which led me to look at what other options there were in my area. For the last couple of vehicles I had my PPF done at Xpel’s main headquarters which of all places is here in San Antonio. They have done a fantastic job with great attention to detail such as rolling the film over all edges rather than simply having a line. I am taking my just delivered R1T there in a week or so in addition to getting there essentially clear “tint” to block the heat from the windshield and front windows.

Had mine done there as well. Didn't have much experience with PPF before, but felt like they did a good job. Had a small issue that needed correcting after delivery, no issues getting it fixed.

They also tinted my windshield and door windows.

All the various social media sites and news groups are showing an increase in delivery activity. I don't see much happening in the Austin, TX area. There are a few mentions in the Dallas and Houston area.

I have not driven to the supposed location of the service center in north Austin to see if there is anything going on.

I actually test drove an R1S a few weeks ago center is up and running I am adding more and more Rivians around town

I have a question to those that had their R1T or R1S last summer.

How bad is the heat with the glass roof around August?

I did get the windshield and windows tinted with great IR blocking tint, and it has held up great on days that were pretty warm. But I got mine in January and honestly, this spring has been pretty cool. I am just curious if I need to also add some IR block to the roof.

I got mine late last summer. Not too bad. I bought the mesh I could secure to the roof and tinted the front windshield and doors.

May see if i can find that reflective cover to put on now that we are getting hot again

Any Austin, Texas Rivians with ceramic and/or PPF installer recommendations? San Antonio having the Xpel headquarter is my current leaning given the recommendations above, but it would be more convenient if there’s an in-town option

I used authentic detail in Pflugerville. They did a good job.
