But seriously. Waiting a year, it can't be high priority. Blaming supply chains or something? We all have experience with broken supply chains and even during the worst it wasn't a year. So never?

I could be wrong, but I don't believe used ones can be programmed to work with your car. Since not all people seems to use theirs and use phone as a key, a Tesla solution might work. Push a software change that let's the user program any G1 FOB to their car. Tesla requires credit card key to initiate this. I've used this before on week long Turo rentals where I bring my own FOB. Can even use a Model X FOB on a Model 3.

A secondary market appears on Ebay and those that don't use FOB make a hundred bucks and those of us that want a FOB stop waiting for Rivian.

I also checked, they don’t sell the NACS to ccs1 adapter anymore, or the j1772 wall charger. They have moved on from the Gen1 hardware

Supposedly they are trying to make the gen2 fobs work on gen1 vehicles. Probably once they make that happen you'll be able to get a fob.

that’s very weird because 18+ months of Gen2 vehicles are j1772, NACS only started on the 26’ models.
