Admittedly WY is a lot more accessible than a year or two ago. But the wife and I were considering a trip up to the northern WY/southern MT area for some skiing. The south-north crossing is still not favorable to EVs. There are like 3 'coming soon' EAs that would make this pretty easy, but we don't have a ton of confidence they'll open this winter... wondering if anyone has been able to make it through this stretch with an overnight charge at a campground or hotel somewhere. We are eyeing an RV park in Hardin MT, but ABRP and Rivian nav don't think we will even make the 209 mile trek from the furthest north fast charger in CO (Wellington) to the Casper, WY EA station. The map doesn't show it but we'd probably use the Gillette EA as well. I am considering a high-speed, high-elevation, low-temp range check drive between denver and cheyenne to get a baseline for efficiency this time of year.
Anyone done this drive yet? We may opt to go around through salt lake and west Yellowstone, but it's like 5 hours additional driving, plus charging...
