Apple Watch app - "no digital key"

With the new update I now have the Rivian app on my watch- it says “no digital key” when I open the app. I have the digital key in the wallet on my phone but when I go to the wallet on the watch app to add Rivian it says something is wrong and unable to add it.

Maybe delete the app from both devices and then reinstall it on the Apple Watch first and then set up the key.

If that doesn’t work I’ve also heard of people doing a soft reset on the Rivian to clear everything out.

I hope the R2’s electrical architecture/UI doesn’t have issues like this. Seems like a reoccurring problem for the R1 line.

I had to restart my watch. That cleared that error.

I had the same problem. I had wallet turned off on my watch because I didn't want to be bothered with watch password. I turned wallet back on and shared the car key and one credit card to my watch. That fixed it.

My digital key went to my watch first time no problem

Had the exact same issue. I think it was tied to not being logged into my Apple account. I did not have any Credit Cards active for Apple Pay on my watch. So I went ahead and tried to add a Credit Card in the Watch app on phone under “Wallet and Apple Pay” which required me to log into my Apple account which successfully added the Credit Card to the watch. I then went back and added the Rivian key and it worked perfectly.

Also on the watch I believe you need to have passcode set to on.

This was how I got resolution. Hope it works for you.

what series is your watch? I just got back from the Apple Store with a new watch because my old one (series 5) couldn’t go beyond version 12. New watch has latest version 26.3 and the Rivian app works like a charm. I had no idea my watch was so out of date.

You're in the same boat I am - Series 4 watch is too old. Off to the Apple Store!

Yes. I believe the oldest series watch that supports the Rivian app is Series 6. My wife’s watch is a Series 6 and hers supports it. My old watch is a Series 5 that did not support it. As I stated previously, my new watch is a Series 11. Works great, the app is very useful.
