Auto Lock/Unlock Issue -- Not Working Consistently

I may be late to this party but I took my R1T in June & noticed the app/auto lock-unlock wasn't quite working consistently. Since then it has been sporadic at best & now simply works about 10% of the time, mostly it will lock in my garage as I walk away but it won't unlock ever. I carry the fob card in my wallet, have the settings to active for auto lock, app is setup & only works if I manually lock or unlock. I'm very frustrated & it's actually a safety issue so hoping it's just me & not a Rivian thing, or they need to fix it ASAP. Any thoughts, experiences?

At home I keep the auto unlock setting off and just manually lock/unlock with my phone or the keyfob. I usually wake the truck up through the app to have the HVAC temp ready for when I'm set to go so it's already awake and quick to unlock once I head outside. It's just too finicky at home and would unlock/lock constantly as I walked around the house with my phone.

Away from home I always have a spare keycard, FOB, and PaaK with me and the car will consistently lock once I'm about 20 feet away, but unlocking can be a bit finicky - the unlock range is much shorter and I'm usually waiting at the driver door for 5 seconds or so for it to finally open.

Have you confirmed that perhaps your phone isn't putting the Rivian app to sleep or similar that is keeping it from working and making/closing the BT connection as you depart/approach? Mine is set to always run in the background so I've never had issue. I would check into this or start carrying your actual FOB as well as I don't think a 10% success rate is at all common for most people.

Card is NFC only so it won't lock or unlock the vehicle unless pressed to the door handle.

I'd check the settings for your phone as mentioned above.

I do carry the FOB so last post is accurate, it's no good for approach....it's interesting you mention the app as I don't have any options for settings on it to keep up in background, or control on/off of heating, cooling, or other. This sounds like the culprit, the app. I'll keep digging

Update: I went to the phones settings, got to the Rivian app & changed setting to Location "Always", I'll see if that does it. One last thing, the "key" FOB I received isn't working at all
