I have a Model Y and R1S. Garage already had Nema 14-30 outlet so used the Tesla mobile charger for years without issue.
Since R1S arrived, I am using this mobile charger instead of the Tesla (J1772 plug) and add the Tesla provided adapter plug to charge the MY.
MUSTART Level 2 Portable EV Charger (240 Volt, 25ft Cable, 25 Amp), Electric Vehicle Charger Plug-in EV Charging Station with NEMA 14-30P https://a.co/d/6wX53Nz
Big learning for me was that the R1S is an “electron guzzler” compared to the MY. I know it should have been obvious but ??
So charging on a 14-30, capped at 24amps, gives me 24miles/hr on the MY but only 8miles/hr on the R1S. This is just really slow and if you get down below 100miles range left, overnight charging really won’t give you much back in range.
I’m in the process of having the circuit changed to a Nema 14-50 to get the max output at home and will have a mobile charger for sale, at a great price, very shortly ?
