It likely IS a defect which is why Rivian had to revise the rod ends. Who knows if she had the revised ones though.

Is there a way to find out if I have the revised ones?
I have an R1S Quad Motor, 1st Gen and picked up end of August 2023

The 2024+ models have the revised rods. The issue was known by Rivian as far back as late 2022 so hard to say when. The original rods are the same size as the Bronco so braces are available from bronco busters and DHD. I think the new part number is PT00001954-E but I'm not sure. It might need to be matched with a new outer PT00001955-F
