Hello my dudes, and happy day before the day before US Independence day! I'm posting today because I'm looking for a few individuals to help me test a potential upcoming product. Testers will be sent an evaluation unit with the hope of receiving feedback on likes and dislikes. You'll need a Rivian to install it in, and it's yours to keep after feedback is provided.

The product that I'm looking to have tested is a new, modular version of the Phone Mount Pro. You'll be able to swap between all three sizes with just a Phillips head screwdriver, without deinstalling the mount. It's also constructed out of a new high performance material, it's been tweaked to sit slightly more secure, and updated to significantly minimize byproducts of 3D print manufacturing.

Alpha testing looks really, really good as of right now. Considering OpenSource EV sells so many of these, I want to be extra sure that we're good to go before putting them up for sale. Additionally, there is a second product that I'm including with this test which is related, but not quite as far along in development that I would also like folks in this group to take a look at and provide feedback on.

Hi Everyone - Just a quick heads up that signups for this are now closed. An email to some participants went out tonight (directly from my MotorcycleInsight.com address) and a second email will be sent next week.

Thanks so much to everyone who signed up. There were lots more people than what I was expecting! I'm going to do a thing to thanks everyone, even those who weren't chosen to participate. I'm also planning on doing a least one more of these and will make sure that folks who weren't selected this will be prioritized in the future.

I really, really appreciate you all!

Rob

any idea when this will ship? I used a 3d printed mount that was just like this, but here in the California Heat it kept melting and becoming useless, Curious if this one will hold up to the higher heats better.

Testing is ongoing now and looks to be going well. There will be a ton of announcements later this month, this being one of them. (and there is more on just this than what I've posted)

I'd suggest signing up for the newsletter. The link is at the bottom of all pages on the site. Generally, I send out one for major item releases or sales about every 60 days. Those go out early AM and precede everything that I post here by a few hours at minimum.

Not to go off topic on your thread but have you considered a driver facing tablet/iPad mount?

Before anyone gets upset it would not be for commenting on Rivian Forums or watching the latest espisode of Real Housewives while driving down the highway but rather a way to easily use Gaia GPS or On X while offroading/overlanding.

These products exist for Jeeps and other similar rigs, would be great to have something for the Rivian.

I've thought about this as I've been asked about it here and there. I haven't really determined a good place to be able to mount it though. I know that Branden Flasch mounted his Galaxy Fold using a really early left mount prototype that I sent him, but I'm not 100% sure how ideal that was.

I'm happy to listen to ideas is maybe where this is.

I will say that I have something that I'm actively working in addition to what is identified in this thread which will likely take precedent. I've also been periodically toying with the idea of a bluetooth speaker replacement drawer which I'm going to give another go at soonish.
