BLIS…or not so much?

I have a 2025 Gen2 R1S that I took delivery last month and overall I do love my R1S. We have an X and upgraded from the 3 to the R1S. The vehicle drove home no issues…then the following week the BLIS went on the BLINK… the warning light resets with every sleep reset but then promptly returns… I have since made an appointment to have it evaluated as it hasn’t worked at all… ALways get the alert when backing up that I don’t have cross traffic monitoring. But oddly enough yesterday the BLIS warning light did not come back on after I took my kid to a mid morning appointment and yes, the BLIS worked like magic… unfortunately it only lasted until I parked again and yep you guessed it… stopped working again. I was so hoping that with the new update it would fix itself but it did not. Oh, on that note, has anyone tried out the chrome cast… Looks to be a great feature… except when I tried to get out of the movie it crashed the whole system and made my R1S due a full system restart. Anyone else having BLIS issues or is this just me?

I have very similar BLIS issues. It had never worked since delivery of my Gen 2 in September, then magically started working intermittently 2 weeks ago, but never for longer than a day. Sometimes I get full warning/error lights, but it still appears to work (indicator on mirrors, rear corner sensing on driver display). When it does work, it only lights up when someone is directly in my blind spot, not when they are approaching from just behind my rear corner. Most other vehicles light up with a much larger safety cushion to allow a safe lane change before the rear car is right beside you.

I’ve had a mobile service to try to fix it but no dice. My SC appt is in mid-January…

I’ve been driving a Rivian for 18 month and don’t know what is a BLIS. These acronyms don’t help.

Blind Spot Information System for some companies, but Rivian actually calls their’s BSW for Blind Spot Warning, part of their Driver+ system.
