So far none of the solutions on here have worked for longer than a song today.

But, weirdly, the other night I had no problem at all. Maybe the truck was asleep then?

Anybody else had any luck?

Been having the exact same issue but haven't found a solution. It seems every time Gear Guard is triggered it stops Spotify playback on whatever device you're using. I was watching the truck while listening to Spotify and the lights would flash and then my music would stop. It also seems to do this more often when listening to music because if I stop listening Gear Guard triggered much less. Start music again and Gear Guard would just start going off every min or so.

Huh, OK. Maybe tonight I'll try turning off gear guard.

Sigh, haha

Update: I logged out of Spotify in the truck. It's the only thing that worked.

Not thrilled about it.

This is also happening to me, making spotify totally unusable.

I've found a relatively simple workaround that seems to be working for now, but is annoying. When I pull into my driveway, I switch to radio away from Spotify. So far that seems to be working, but it means switching sources on music every time I get into or out of my R1T.

Uff, thanks for this man. I'll log back into the app and try this.

I too have this issue. I work in the garage casting to a chromecast to feed the garage stereo while the R1T sits about 10 feet from me. Btw I have the issue with both my Pixel phone and my laptop. The pausing happens on both of them.

I have found that when I get home, I press the left roller wheel on the steering wheel to pause spotify before getting out of the truck. Then I don't have this problem as bad. Still happens every now and then, but it's certainly better.

This started getting me today (car sitting in the garage) and it's frankly infuriating. It's just a new problem I didn't have to deal in my last car, but because this randomly decides it wants to be awake and doing *something* it keeps shutting my music down.

FFS a damn power button would help with a lot of this, vampire drain, climate blasting when I open the door to grab something, stealing spotify (so I have to manually flip through screens to turn this off individually), why couldn't they just give us ONE BUTTON, sometimes there's a reason we don't re-invent the damn wheel.

I'm in the garage a lot and, man, the number of times i hear that weird *TWANG* of the car waking up — even though I'm 15 feet away — is wild. If its so responsive to my proximity, why the hell is my phone key so shitty haha??

Update, in case anybody comes across this: 39.1 seemed to break the above fixes for this. Had to sign out of the app in the truck again. Sigh.

I just turn off Bluetooth on my phone so it doesn’t keep waking the truck. Problem is if the wife goes in the kitchen, it’s apparently close enough to wake the truck as well. So yes, this happens every minute or so.

the best option would be to switch the truck from Spotify to Bluetooth or radio before getting out. That way when the truck boots up from you being nearby it’s not activating Spotify and pausing you other device session.
