Noticed over the past week when driving the camp speaker making its power on / power off noises ocassioanlly. Didn't think much of it until I went to use the speaker and it was at 4%. Didn't seem to be charging in the dock so brought it inside and put it on three different USB-C chargers (Ring battery charger, Mac laptop, iPhone) for at least 6 hours each, the Mac charger overnight.

All buttons are completely unresponsive. The truck doesn't recognize the speaker in the dock. Reset procedures (hold connect for 30 seconds, and action/volume down/playpause button for 7 seconds procedures) have no effect.

The only sign of life is when I first plug USB-C in. Once the lights go off they don't come back on. Video attached. Otherwise this thing is a brick. Any ideas? Thank you!

Same thing happened to me... What seems to have fixed it is fully charging it and then do a hard reset. It's worth checking in on every couple weeks if you leave it docked to make sure it has a high state of charge - Settings > Vehicle > Dock

If you see a SOC % then you should be good but if you don't then it didn't connect and likely the battery has been draining and could be out.

Open a service ticket. Mine had to be “re-paired to my vehicle” when this happened.

I could never get Opal's camp speaker to work at all. It is now safely stored in the downstairs bedroom closet. The only benefit of the camp speaker is when it is permanently removed, the vehicle payload is increased by five pounds. With the availability of really good Bluetooth speakers today, Rivian's camp speaker was a stupid idea behind its time.

If Rivian ever opens a service facility anywhere remotely near hear, I will make them fix or replace Opal's camp speaker and then return it to its storage spot in the downstairs bedroom closet.
