Recirc is not a new thing, n
And what happens if you leave your climate off entirely? Surely the CO2 concentration will rise then as well? Should the fan kick in occasionally and draw in outside air when off? Does it do that now? I'm pretty sure my manual-climate Impreza and Corollas never do that (but they're probably not sealed as well/tight either).
Yeah, recirc is not new, nor is concern about CO2 concentration in small, sealed-up spaces. Also, I suspect if people are driving past a sewage plant or cattle farm, they may be quite upset if they set recirc and suddenly it starts drawing in putrid air from the outside. So, one thing someone brought up a couple weeks ago on this same subject was that even in manual mode, the HVAC will still kick back and forth between external air and recirculating periodically.
