Respectfully, this isn't a Rivian problem. You jammed the wrong key in there and yanked out the core. Order a new (matching) core from Yakima, with a blank key, and Bob's your uncle.

This might be a good time to switch out any other Yakima cores you have so they all match one key.

UPDATE:

I took the cargo racks of the R1s today and tried to reinstall the locking mechanism in the cylinder. The offending cylinder lock was in the "open" position when the mechanism came out with the key. (We left the racks on the car as we've been using regularly until this weekend).

When the cargo racks were in the horizontal mounting position, the lock mechanism with key in it did not go into the cylinder.

I set the racks in their storage location which is "vertical" (i.e., the non-working lock was expose from the top). I tried again from the "top" position (i.e., dropping straight down) and, the lock mechanism went into the cylinder without any problem and closed without pulling out with the key.

Happy result but strange experience.
