I've been looking into a mobile GMRS setup, and finding a decent place to mount an antenna is tough, especially with the all-glass roof.

This got me wondering, are there accessory mounts that can be locked into the cargo crossbar holes on the bed/roof (dunno what they're called, eyelets?)?

This could make for a secure antenna mount that could also hold a ground plane or counterpoise or whatever, and would be relocatable to the roof mount location in a pinch if I ever need to use the cargo crossbars on the bed.

Has anyone done this, or is there a product that clips into these mounts and lets you attach accessories?

Thanks all, that's what I was looking for. Glad to see it's a paved road. The options are all pretty expensive though.

This is ideally what I'm looking for, but doesn't seem to be a purchaseable product (I assume it's 3d-printed):

These Mars mounts are the cheapest, and look like they'd be fine for an antenna. But I do wonder if the entire load is supposed to be taken by the "bridge."

The Weistec ones look the most polished/engineered, but also the most expensive at $100 each:

A 3D-printed version. I'm sure it would be fine for a stubby antenna. But who knows after a few years.

This one looks the most OEM and also extremely beefy.

Seems like the DIY way to go is a U-bolt with nuts around the bridge, and an antenna would be minimal load. I ended up going with the Megawatt mount adapter, it's still expensive but looks extremely tough and comes in a pair, which could be useful in the future.

I watched Kyle's video where he went to Weistec and they went over the whole installation of his Ruff Rax system. I honestly thought it all looked very well designed, and the video made me want to buy their products... right up until I saw what they were charging for them. $2600 for a roof rack that's a few laser cut panels and some 1"x3" T-slot extrusions!? That's a bit more than the usual premium for something made in the USA. And the accessory port adapters, $100 would be reasonable for a set of 4.

I feel like some of these aftermarket companies have Rivian owners confused with Ferrari owners.

Yep, I couldn't do $100 for a single mount. The ultimate cheap method could be a small u-bolt with nut fasteners over a drilled plate. I split the difference with the Megawatt adapters, which are solid steel and $80 for 2...

Right now prototyping what I'm going to try to do with them:
