This started before the latest update, but hasn't rerurned to normal since updating. When I try to cast from my Pixel (latest Android version installed) to my R1S, I get the option to cast to the Rivian, and I get the option to cast one app or the whole screen, but no matter what I choose I get a notification "Casting screen to Rivian has ended." This happens with multiple apps that have always worked before.
I've tried multiple infotainment resets, phone reboots, cache clearing, etc., with no success.
Any other suggestions? I haven't seen this reported recently so I wonder how widespread it is.

The thing is that nothing works, whereas previously everything did. And I can’t pinpoint any change or update to phone or car that precipitated the change. Unless I'm not remembering correctly and the problem started after the latest Rivian update, but I'm pretty sure it started before that. For what it's worth I also did a full computer reset on the Rivian.

Strange that you're getting the "cast one app, cast whole screen" choice. That typically only shows up if you're hitting the "cast" button in the drop-down menu from the top of the screen. Have you tried hitting the "Cast" button in the app itself? You shouldn't be given an option to cast an app or the screen.

I agree that casting is pretty spotty. Some apps are better than others. Sometimes I'll have to reset the car, the phone, or both before it works.

I will try again today but a couple days back (after the .38 update) it worked fine for me on my Samsung Android device - I was able to cast with no issue - I casted IPtV to the screen and worked great with no issue

I tried that approach while using Zoom, and only because it doesn't have a native cast button that I'm aware of. And in the past it worked as expected. In fact, both options (app and screen) did.
This latest time I tried that method as well as using the in-app button with CBS Sports. Using the drop down menu approach gave me the same error message, while using the app button did nothing. Fortunately I was still able to watch the Bills beat the Chiefs on my phone, but I would have preferred a slightly bigger screen.

It causes my R1T to freeze up.

Although you can still drive with it frozen up and no screens on.

I guess I'll throw this in here... having casting issues that may be the same as others that have described it as "spotty." For me, my Gen 1 R1T recognizes my phone to cast, I select the casting within the app (I've tried with YTTV and HBO Max), and it "tries" to cast but gets stuck. The show that I'm watching/casting will show up on the screen, but invariably it gets stuck buffering and eventually disconnects. Anyone have this and have any fixes? Thanks.

While my car is back in the SC I have a loaner Gen1 R1S and casting seems ro work well on it, so I don't think my phone is the issue. Going to add that to the list of problems for them to look at.

Another casting issue here. Android casting used to work great but no longer. Not sure when it broke as I only use it when killing time waiting for the ferry.

I’ve been having a lot of issues with casting too since last two updates. I am hoping once Google assistant update comes out this fixes the issues.

Yes, I was just watching it in my truck a few days ago. It doesn’t seem to work as smoothly as with some other apps, but it works.
