Charge % lost parked at airport

We have to drive several hours to our closest international airport in El Paso. We generally have been taking several 2-3 week trips a year in our retirement and leave our car there for the duration of the trip.

Assuming we leave our house at 100% SOC, and using the real world highway use case from Out of Spec and State of Charge You Tube videos (around 340 Wh/mile at 70) we should have 60% SOC or more when we drop of the vehicle.

El paso tends to be pretty temperate, even in the winter although it can get cold at night.

Any real world data out there yet for the R2 in terms of the daily parasitic % charge loss for a situation like this? I have heard that the R2 should be somewhat better than the R1 in terms of SOC lost per day while parked. We will likely not be able to park at a place where we are plugged in.

I understand I will need to make sure that I configure the vehicle for lowest parasitic draw and would appreciate any advice on that as well.

Having done two airport parking sessions recently (10 days and 4 days) with my R1S, I would say that constantly waking the vehicle via the app definitely hurts your state of charge. I had zero interaction with the Rivian app during the 10 day parking session and noticed virtually zero loss in charge, while the 4-day session with the widget on my phone in place used much more.

Leave your Rivian alone when parked people!

"Several hours" to and from the airport in an Uber is going to cost way more than an off-site economy lot for 2-3 weeks.

The couple references to this I have seen so far (all on these boards) was that there is little to no draw (the example that comes to mind was comparing their R2 to their R1, and showed far less draw, essentially none).

Yep, but in a garage. I will do that of course when I get the R2.....not for several months.

I probably won't test it outside as we can get storms in the mountains with hail, limbs falling from trees and such, and don't want to subject the R2 to that risk. So probably not exactly the same as outside in El Paso. It will definitely get hotter in the day and colder in the night there.

Hi, an R2 will not get 340 miles, driving 70mph in Texas in 100+ degree heat. Maybe 240. I just drove my MaxPack R1S through Texas, and I got about 240 miles. Okay, I was driving a bit faster.

Your phantom drain will be lowest if Gear Guard is off. If you want to keep it on, I recommend you be selective with parking location. On my trip, I mistakenly parked facing the lobby. My Gear Guard recorded every person that moved in the lobby...over 500 videos in one night!

Sorry, perhaps I was not clear. I did not say 340 mi of range. I said energy consumption rate of ~340 Wh/mi at 70 mpg based upon current tests. Rivian advertises a consumption rate of around 286 wh/mi with the 20in wheel which is too optimistic.
