I am picking up a used R1T right now. Apparently the charge port door “popped off” minutes before I arrived. Does anyone know how to get it back on?

If you’re short on time, try Reddit. There’s a much bigger, more responsive (if also more snotty) community there.

The body colored exterior part of the door is sonically welded to a structural backing. If that is the portion that came off, you can just glue it back with water-proof adhesive of your choice. Or, go through warranty once ownership is fully transferred and registered to you. Hurts nothing in the meantime. It’s just cosmetic trim.

Reddit… lol. Sure if you want misinformation and see correct answers get downvoted because of fragile egos.

It was the whole assembly (and shaft). The vehicle has 38k miles, so should be a warranty issue. I used the Rivian app to make an appointment for next week.

Not much you can do on your own, since Rivian SC is the only source for new replacement parts. If you're handy and don't mind salvage parts... there's that option. Autobahn Recycling (El Cajon, CA) and BMA Parts (Van Nuys, CA) list parts on eBay regularly. You can also contact them direct via info on their sites.
