You should call them back. If you have the line set up for 60 amps they should set the charger for that and it should draw up to 48 amps. Most chargers have to be set for the circuit and draw up to 80% of that.Despite electrician running careful wiring to deliver 50 amps with 60a breaker to my Chargepoint Home system with hardwiring, mine was running slow too. First handful of charges on both R1T and Ioniq 5 were circa 8-9 mph charge rate.
Despite both CP device and website instructions saying one can adjust the charger to proper higher amperage after install - it cannot be done by the customer via the CP app and has to be done by CP.
Recommend calling them and asking them to troubleshoot your system load. They can see amperage, voltage load, kw. Turns out my CP charger was only drawing 20 amps, CP reset it to 50 amps by asking to turn off your charger breaker power, then resetting system remotely to proper higher amperage setting.
Iām still not getting full 50 amps, since reset CP shows my system drawing 40 amps or circa 18 miles per hour of charge, which they say is in target ārangeā. I did ask them to open a ticket to see if we could squeeze the final increment out, not sure.
Sorry for long story.
This is not a helpful post.WTF? 1 day, 2 hours to charge?
Sorry it's not a helpful post. It's at a Chargepoint station. A helpful post would be one that you could offer advice. This is not a helpful post.
What size circuit is it on? What size wire gauge. Did you configure it correctly on initial setup? Do you get a full 240 volts and not 209?
Iām getting 11.5kw on a dedicated 60amp circuit I installed myself.
my advice is you do some research and learn the difference between a L2 6kw station and a L3 station.Sorry it's not a helpful post. It's at a Chargepoint station. A helpful post would be one that you could offer advice.
OK. I had just assumed that Chargepoint (of which I'm a shareholder) could charge my truck in less than an F'ing day.Educate yourself, consumer: https://rivian.com/support/article/what-are-charge-station-levels
I have a dedicated 50AMP from my old hot tub. I think I'm just gonna sell this thing and make a quick $30k - $40k. FOB frunk not working, headlights suck, tonneau is a a grindy mess, etc, etc. Let's call a spade a spade.Sounds normal for a 6 kwh L2 Charger. If you get a 60 amp breaker and wall charger installed it should cut it in roughly half
I also have shares in ChargePoint and I know that thereās different levels of EV charging. ChargePoint makes a range of Level 2 and Level 3 chargers.OK. I had just assumed that Chargepoint (of which I'm a shareholder) could charge my truck in less than an F'ing day.

Sounds like you want an EV from an established brand. Iād say sell the Rivian a s buy a ford. nothing wrong with that.
