I'm finding it difficult to believe I'm the only one, but I have a Gen2 R1S and R1T, and have previously had a Gen1 R1S. In the Gen2 models, there is a chirp sound consistently at 19 and 37mph, and if you drive at those speeds, the chirp is continuous and becomes a squeal. It's not loud, but certainly noticeable. It is present in my Gen2 R1S but not too significant but in my Gen2 R1T it is louder and quite annoying. It was not present in my Gen1 R1S nor the loaner Gen1 R1S that I have had as the shop in Van Neuys has been evaluating it. They are telling me it is a normal noise and does not need to be fixed, but I'm trying to wrap my head around an annoying noise that is "normal" in a $90K car. I have had multiple electric cars, including the previous R1S and never heard this. If this is truly "normal" I would expect everyone to have noticed it. I can't find any reference to this on the Forum, and would appreciate some feedback from the community.

My name is Mike, and I have a (car) problem
Have never heard this at those speeds.

My G2 R1S had a weird, almost unbearable squeal when it was warm and at about 65mph under reasonable load (minor headwind, etc).

My G2 R1T is pretty quiet under all loads and conditions.

My gen1 t has an almost-ultrasonic screech at exactly 61 mph most of the time. Many people cannot hear it. I assume it’s some odd aerodynamic thing that could never be fixed outside a wind tunnel; maybe there are many slight variations of whatever part might be causing this?

37mph is likely the panels under the hood. I know as 37mph is when the ‘gpu coil whine’ like noise hist my truck. They have fitted foam under the panels which makes it go away for a bit, but then the foam compresses or gets wet and it comes back. I’ve never heard this in any gen1, or any of my friends gen2’s.

Eek - I have not yet done enough concert damage to my ears and can still hear pretty high pitched stuff. Drives me nuts, and it's just me and the dog who understand.

My G1 only had a whine when I was really on the accelerator. Otherwise, it was just loud in general but not painful.

I had an almost exact “metal rubbing on metal or glass” noise to that one in the video but it was at variable speeds and dependent on wind. A bit of duct tape on top of the frunk hinge adjusting bolts (the only metal-on-metal contact I could find up there) made it go away.

with respect to the original post, I never took it to Rivian for repair as I expected they would brush it off. An outsider would consider it a mere annoyance.
But unliveable for me on a daily basis. I’m not sure where exactly they draw the line but it sounds like someone needs to dive deeper on yours.

My OCD won't allow me to drive at 19 or 37MPH. IT would need to be at 20 or 35/40. Can't be "in between" w/ those weird speeds...

It's probably the motorized shutters in the front, behind the grill, needing lubrication. It's an EV, which is still a machine. Machines, at any price, make noises when in operation. No authority ever said EVs are suppose to be dead silent, yet some people assume they are and should be.

Is it the inverter whine? Mine does the same thing at very similar speeds and was confirmed as normal from the inverter. Makes sense but it's unfortunate they tuned the motor pulse that way.

I have also been told it is normal, but that does not make it acceptable. It is much less loud on my RS1, and I have been given an incredible run around from Rivian, it's like trying to get help from Verizon at this point. I've gone from being an incredible fan to the point I would never buy or recommend a Rivian again.
