Click sound off auto hold - normal?

When I tap the accelerator to disengage auto hold, the brake pedal makes a click/thump sound. You can also “feel” the sound via the feedback the accelerator gives me. It’s very annoying. I’d disable auto hold all together but I know that’s not possible.

I took it to the SC and they inspected the brake pedal setup and told me everything was spec. But something just doesn’t sit right with me. Every car I’ve owned has had an autohold feature (including EVs) and none made this annoying sound when coming off of it.

I guess the question is: 1) Is this something everyone in an R1S experiences and 2) Has anyone figured out a way to alleviate the issue.

That's normal, at least mine does that, too. It's the brake engaging. I think the hold works pretty well overall and it doesn't bother me personally.

Yes, I noticed that two years after my ownership because I got a new set of hearing aid.

Yes normal. I don't know if it's what is going on, but to me it sounds just like what a electronic relay would make as it switches on—probably the circuit that controls the parking brake, to activate brake hold.

I noticed the same the first week or two that I got the car. It wasn't loud enough for me to consider it abnormal. I haven't tried listening for it after a few weeks Just turn on the audio and enjoy some sweet tunes.

Car is awesome in so many other ways that this small things gets forgiven.
