My God entitled people are taking over the world.
So I cant complain about something that I feel is unfair because then I am entitled? I am not asking for more than what I already had. And I get the Google Satellite map thing, if it costs them a licensing fee in perpetuity, they should probably charge for it.

I do feel entitled to express my opinion, and you, yours. I am not mad or complaining about anything other than what I thought was a good car company, but they proved to me that they aren't. Your experience may be different, and for that, I am glad for you.

My house didn't have internet when I bought it so.... Apples and Oranges friend...
Your truck had electricity in the battery when you bought it as well. Did you expect Rivian to keep your battery full, too?

So you would have been fine paying an extra 150 a year for the past two years and continuing to pay it, but the fact that you got two years free chaps your ass? I’ll tell you what, Venmo me 300 bucks and pretend you had to pay for connectivity from the start. You’re welcome.

Responses like this highlight how petty these complaints really are so thank you for strengthening my argument. You have zero satisfaction now that you have to pay for data?
Nope, it has nothing to do with the price or having to pay for data. Are all complaints petty, or just the ones you disagree with?

Calm down, I understand what I lost is internet connection. The limited time internet was conveniently left out during the purchasing process. And yes, I should've done more research.
It wasn't "left out of the process" when Rivian had it stated on their website.

Just the ones where a modicum of common sense could avoid the complaint. The wheel falls off your truck, your truck is a brick, sure complain away. You having to pay a bill for a consumable item, that's the same as pretty much everywhere else in society and you should know that already.

Absolute BS, and a petty way to treat your early adopter customers who, like me, probably had nothing but good things to say about Rivian. But now, I am not going to recommend. I wish they'd send an NPS score before and after the Connect+ BS. Mine would have gone from 10 to 0. To have features taken away after purchase with no plan for legacy members its utter scheme to monetize. The good ole' bait and switch. I would have probably paid for it if they rolled it out the right way.
What's the "right way"? There have been multiple emails, website posts, and public comments from Rivian going back to before deliveries even started, that addressed the fact that the data plan would not be free forever. That's not including the countless number of threads here and on many social media platforms covering this topic.

Is it ideal? No, maybe not, but AT&T doesn't give their data services away for free, and if you don't want to pay, you can use a phone hotspot.

No, many features now only work with Connect+, and if you bring your own connectivity, they still don't work. That is the point of this entire thread.
Please name all of the features you lose without Connect+ if you bring your own connectivity....

Nope, that is just straw manning my issue.
How so? You argue that since your truck came with internet access, you should get it for free forever, even though Rivian had it on their website that they planned to charge for it. I don't see any difference between your truck having internet access and a charge in the battery. You explain how you can rightfully assume to get one for free forever but not the other. I'll wait.

There's probably a stronger argument for free charge using your reasoning because Rivian didn't have it on their website they planned on a subscription for it.

Yes it was. LOL Just because a statement exists on a website doesn't mean it wasn't also left out of the process. They sure used Spotify as a nice value add during the purchasing process and never once mentioned it was going away (The internet connection, not Spotify).

The only real thing that bothered me was the loss of Spotify. Yes, I understand it's a 'streaming' service and that I can also use my phone, but I just bought my Rivian a few months ago and that was sold as a value add ("Hey btw you get Spotify to stream music, and 'Soon' you will have SiriusXM") NICE! Those are the only 2 music programs/apps I use. Now come a few months later, they pulled a 'LOL Sike!' on Spotify streaming app and SiriusXM is still no where to be seen and they are running out of 2024 runway. 99% of Connect+ is useless to me, but now I feel I have to buy it to regain a feature I once had for free.

On a side note. After seeing the Halloween screens, it would be cool if they put in like customized or 'themed' type driver gauges that could permanently be used during driving (Like the night rider and back to the future ones). That would be a cool feature I would buy Connect+ for.
They never promised you free internet forever. And you still have access to those apps.

I can read and intuit (like your passive aggressiveness), but I guess I didn't understand..and I am not asking anyone to make an exception, just simply complaining, not demanding a change... If they wanted to roll it back, I'd be happy. If they don't, I will still be happy.
