I have just installed a rear camera on my 22 Basecamp 20X. The monitor is so archaic that they give you a cigarette lighter plug to run the power for it. Got a patch cord for lighter to USB, and then a converter to USB3. It all works.

My question is if the camera is bluetooth to the monitor, is there a chance we could bluetooth to Rivian monitor and bypass using supplied monitor. Or is that wishful thinking?

Or can the 12V power be accessed some other way in the cabin?

You will not ever be able to send video to the car with BT. Your camera also likely doesn't have that either, anyway.

The power connection is probably USB-C? It is not USB-3 which is a protocol. You could use the USB-C outlets in the truck.

A lot of people claim that the 12v power for the outlet in the early models is still there, under the dash. You could use that. Or you can use a fuse to USB-C tap if you have a gen 1 (it would help if you'd actually fill out your info in your profile). In this video I cover how I did it:

I plan to use the camera on that CarPlay unit as my trailer camera, which uses that screen.

Thanks for that. My Gen 1 R1T has the USB-c under the dash, which I found finally. Should work seamlessly. will mount the screen about where your CarPlay screen is.
