Conserve mode in Death Vally?

When I drive through death Valley next week should I drive in conserve mode to keep The battery temperature is down? Will it keep the battery temperatures down?

Conserve mode won’t keep the battery temp down; but it will cause the front motors to get noticeably hotter than the rear. Leave it in all-purpose unless you’ll absolutely _need_ the extra range.

The front motor is has a more efficient invertor which generates less heat. Basically drawing 100hp from just the front motor generates less BTU than drawing 50 from the front and 50 from the back. This is evident when doing long Regen in AWD or towing. The rear gets a little hotter for the divided work. Seems to be about 5% loss from my observation.

If you are asking the question for the battery safety, it's designed to withstand much higher temperatures than weather would bring. Most critical components are designed with the factor of safety of 1.5x~2x so they are robust.

Driving in conserve mode wears the inside of your tires. You should use conserve mode at a minimum.

Conserve mode might be useful in Death Valley if you need the range. Use it for that, but not for temp concerns.

I drove through Death Valley east-to-west in All Purpose just fine, but there are trips that would stretch range capabilities a lot.
