Recently got the cross bars for my R1S and for some reason it's not locking into place. I got one to lock but the other two are not locking. I tried to put pressure, wiggle but still not working. Got a mobile visit this week but thought it was weird. All other installs on YouTube look flawless

Try pulling up while pushing the latch down, then give it a good whack downward with a rubber mallet, while still holding the latch in place. They should be pretty difficult to engage. If they are too easy, they end up wearing into the mating surface pretty badly.

They are tricky for sure, I have to hang off of mine to get them to lock fully. There is an adjustment screw to help with that if wont go.

I had the same issue last week. I turned the roof rack around so the side on the right went to the left. This seemed to fix my problem but not a solution.

I thanks I tried that and I got one side to sorry if lock, didn't hear the second click, there's some good responses below, which I'm going to try. Bruised my hand trying to do one though.
