Custom Installed Radar Detector & Laser Protection - Has anyone done it?

There’s been a few threads on Radar Detectors but I haven’t found one on Custom Installed Radar Detectors/Jammers. I’m considering moving forward on the Escort Redline Ci 360c over the Uniden R9 (not yet released) but still going back and forth..

Has anyone installed a custom setup? If so, can you please share pictures of the interior/exterior installed parts and your experience so far?

Yes, I’ve reviewed the entire thread. This thread, alongside others, is for a traditional radar detector and hardwiring the power source.
I’m interested in an all-in-one custom-installed custom solution for radar detection and laser protection. Typically this involves installing laser jammers in the front and rear of the vehicle's exterior with a custom-installed unit in the interior that is a fraction of the size of a traditional radar detector.

I haven't seen anyone post about a custom install. Please let us know how it goes! I wish I had gone that route...my trusty detector failed to alert when I got lasered and I ended up getting a ticket . I know it wouldn't have mattered without jammers but I feel much less protected now.

LAME! I’ll keep the thread updated if I move forward with it. Custom installs are pretty expensive and a pain to replace if I would like an updated one in the future. I’m going to see how the reviews stack up in the coming weeks before I make my decision.

I have an Escort Redline Ci 360c installed on my R1S. The install was done by 503 Motoring in Beaverton. The controller is just to the right of where the steering wheel comes through the dash and the display is mounted over the rear view mirror. I can post pics tomorrow when there is light.

Is there a preference you went with 360ci vs ALPs? How much did the install cost, parts and labor?

I’ll be fitting my ALP 4-head jammer and Beltronics behind-the-grill detector combo from my old car into my R1S after Thanksgiving. I’ll post photos once installed. Been very happy with that combo for many years.

@WaitingonmyR1T I’m taking my R1S on Monday next week to have my custom laser/radar combo installed. Curious to understand the power on/off config with your custom install - does it power off when you lock the car and power on when you unlock the car, or do you power it on and off manually?

It seems to power on with unlocking the doors but I have to assume that it is timed to turn off after the doors are locked because I could still see it powered on immediately after locking the doors.

Thanks again. Before I start I am looking for a good option for the 12 V switched power connection, and how you routed the cable for the control head through the firewall
