saw a handful of these this weekend while visiting Huntington Beach. To each their own but I really think they are TERRIBLE and in the same way oddly cool to look at because they are so different. There was a matte black with full limo tint. the only hint of color was the white LED bar up front. It did look menacing. Kind of looked like some sort of military vehicle on the road. On

On PCH the CT got way more attention than the Ferraris and Lambos that were cruising up and down the highway.

They are polarizing for sure. Id love to go ride in one to see what its like but I dont think I could own one. Just too weird for me.

Someone on a Rivian Facebook forum put it perfectly - the Cybertruck is like a turd in a punch bowl in commuter traffic.

But..beyond the looks, in my 2.5 weeks of owning mine I like it more and more each day. I’ve driven our R1S twice since then, and I’m sorry to say but it quite literally feels antiquated each time I do.

I’m saying that as someone who is a massive Rivian promoter and thinks it’s an amazing vehicle. It’s just that the drive by wire combined with rear-wheel steering is so amazing that virtually any car that requires hand over hand steering (all of them) can’t compete.

Watched this video today and found myself virtually in total agreement with him…and he also has a Rivian.

As they say, haters gonna hate, but the Cybertruck is so much more than just its polarizing skin.

Really? I don't understand this sentiment.

Yet another Cybertruck offroading fail. Stuck multiple times and needed winch rescue…

I don't understand this as a past-time lol. I could have biked through all of that far faster and had more fun on the way down. Or even hike it!

I wouldn’t expect anyone that hasn’t driven it yet to get it. No different than our ICE-loving SUV/Truck driving friends hating on the Rivian until or unless they actually experience one.

I wasted 8 mins (1.5x speed lol) watching this crap. He apparently had a hard time changing lanes until drive by wire came along.

I have zero intention of trying one. I've already had the plus/minus experience from owning a Model 3 for the last 5 years, and they've continued with the mistakes on the 3/Y and added new ones (e.g. removal of ultrasonic sensors and radar, no stalks, inaccessible bed, no legit room for a spare, poor covered storage [no, the tonneau doesn't count in my use case where I put bikes in the bed constantly]).

The 3 is an amazing car in many ways, but Tesla scored own goals too that were just unnecessary, most of which are design-related (e.g. window freezing causing serious frustration getting into the car in winter, auto wipers that don't work and were exacerbated by shitty ways to operate them manually, over-reliance on touch screen to control important functions, front wheels sand-blast the paint off the rear wheel arches [which they claim is normal and wouldn't repair under warranty], poor wire harness routing on my rear hatch which has failed twice and they wouldn't repair under the recall because my camera hadn't failed, only my ability to get into the trunk!, front latch failure on the frunk with no viable way to open it, shitty control arm joints that squeak incessantly, the wiper area is really tight and prone to icing in the winter, the roof rack attachment system is ghetto and initially cracked many users glass when installed properly, the paint quality in general is shitty with the edges of my trunk lid flaking off and rusting).

We have a Cybertuck in Cary, NC. My wife (who doesn't care about EV's or Cars in general) said, out loud, "What the actual fuck is that hideous thing" in front of our 3 year old daughter. She has never cursed in front of her before....

Personally, I thought it was horrible. from the front it looks cool, every other angle, especially the side, it look terrible.

Yep - it's a look very few people truly like. I'm the complete opposite, where I think it looks the worst from the front (head on), but the side and angled profile is increasingly growing on me.

As I shared earlier, I think that person who said it's like a turd in a punch bowl when you see it in commuter traffic was spot on. Maybe I'll rename mine Mr. Hankey.

To everyone who says the CT is more than it's hideous skin, we need to thing about why someone would deliberately make a "great car" that looks like that
