Ever since I got my R1T I've been having this issue where 50% of the time my truck takes about 5 to 15 seconds to "wake up". Often in the morning, I will click the unlock button on my keyfob, and nothing happens, and I think to myself "I must be a dummy and not have clicked the button correctly even though I felt it click..." Then I click it a second time and nothing, five seconds goes by, then the truck mysteriously unlocks. Or I'll try the "unlock and roll down all 4 windows trick" in the morning, and the first time it won't work (truck will not get the signal at all) and the second time it will unlock, but not roll down the windows--so I proceed to test the feature out again, by locking, then unlock using the X XXX (short click, long click) sequence, and it works!

I've had my keyfob replaced already because my last one chewed through one battery every 2 weeks, and I thought that getting a new key fob would fix the issue. However, I have the same problem coming back from surfing with my keycard--I hold the keycard in exactly the right spot on the door handle and nothing happens...counting in my head once I get to 10 the truck finally unlocks. Other times the keycard, wrist band, and fob are instant.

Is this "normal" for Rivians? I'm obviously used to regular vehicles where a millisecond after I click unlock the vehicle will open its doors. Is the computer just really, really slow in this truck since the vehicle requires every single action to go through it's OS instead of a hardwired simple electrical system?

R1s are pretty sound sleepers. It takes a while for it to wake up

This is apparently normal, horrible operation. Why they wouldn’t have the key fob work like every single other key fob on the planet is beyond me. Yet another design failure

My name is Mike, and I have a (car) problem
The proximity capabilities have improved dramatically since the latest release. I had horrible results for quite a while that have (largely) cleared up since .42.x dropped.

no, it should wake up with the key fob sensor near it and open the doors as you approach it.
every morning, i walk down the stairs, and even though a concrete wall, while i am still 10 feet away or so, i hear the door handles open.
