A good friend of mine in Montana is a day-one R1S Launch Edition preorder. His delivery window is the last couple months of this year, but that's all he's heard and his dates have been bumped back several times.
I'm in Texas and was an August 2021 R1S pre-order. I had a similar delivery window at the end of this year untiI I received R1 Shop access a week ago. I pulled the trigger on a similar model and have an R1S on the way (hopefully) very soon. I've got a guide and VIN# assigned.
But with my buddy it's been crickets and I feel bad for him. No shop access, can't get in touch with customer service. I always expected him to get his vehicle well before me. He's convinced that it's because of where he lives, with SLC being the closest service center. I've heard that geography can have an impact on delivery timing but I know he's pissed and I would be too if I were in his shoes. Any suggestions on what he could to do expedite things, or even get shop access? Any why would an early pre-order not be prioritized over much later orders? Just curious....
