Delivery Window Update

I understood that delivery windows would be updated on a quarterly basis. The first update was the end of April. The second should have been the end of July. I received an email from Rivian on July 25th that the delivery window update would be delayed until late August.

Today, August 8th, Rivian reports earnings after the market closes. Do you think Rivian delayed the delivery window update until after the earnings report? Perhaps Rivian is concerned the updates could disclose information on their quarterly performance.

I hope so. I am ready to see the update. Currently, I have a R1T dual-motor Max pack with a delivery window of October - December of 2023. My guide thinks Max packs will be shipping this month.

Almost definitely they're just regurgitating old information. My estimated delivery is Aug-Sept. I'd bet money it won't happen. Don't sell your existing vehicle or liquidate investments or something in anticipation of delivery based on that CS is telling you. In Dec 2020 CS was confident they were on schedule for the max pack deliveries.

yeah, thats a logical conclusion based on the timing. a bit odd though since this is the first time they've adjusted sharing the delivery window update. to me that speaks of something overall negative not positive. my guess is theres delays on dual motor. we'll see by the end of day.

dual motor and max pack oct-dec 2023? not likely. we have yet to hear of anyone receiving a dual motor who is not an employee. not even sure many employees have received them as there hasn't been any sightings on social media other than press vehicles. and that combo with a max pack? unfortunately, i wont be surprised if your window moves out to 2024.

I am also waiting on my MaxPack - delivery window is the same Oct-Dec. I feel some anxiety over the new duel motor, but sticking with it for sure.

R1T Max Pack - Aug/Sept delivery...I did not get an email about the delayed updates. I take that as a bad sign. So, so tired of all this!

It is very frustrating. Rivian seems oblivious to customer satisfaction. Maybe they think the guides are doing a great job with customer communication. My guide never has any information. I think he just cuts and pastes stock replies. Totally useless.

Just when I think there's nothing more that Rivian can do to disappoint me ...
- ... they delay the delivery window updates until end of August.
- ... in email today, guide says BM vegan leather trim (R1S) is not in production yet ...
- ... and guide says plans for leather trim startup have not been communicated
- ... but when my vehicle is ready, I have 7 days to pick it up, even if I'm in the middle of corn harvest.

We got the call today, 8 months early for us. The finances don't line up till January, so we're discussing options. 2% interest rate on my R1T, looking at 5% for R1S ?. That 1.9% Mach-E loan is looking real tempting, Rivian.

Did this mean you are close to delivery? I got the same, but it still shows my delivery window to be April-June 2024? While I'm quite sure I'll follow through with the purchase, I don't want to convert to a non-refundable deposit 6-9 months before delivery. Too many unexpected life events could happen between now and then. I don't even have a guide assigned. Talked to customer service this morning and they couldn't tell me if this meant I could get an early delivery.

It means your 1-8 weeks from delivery. If they don't already have your configuration built, they're going to build it for you in the next run.

are we sure this email means we're in the process? I'm still seeing July-December '24 on my date, but I got this email and some other vaguely "get prepared, read about financing and trade ins" type email from them.

I mean, I'll take the thing but "surprise 12 months early" isn't something normal people can do with an 80k purchase.

For additional insight, my R1T max pack estimated delivery is still "processing". I guess I prefer that over the hope and letdown of repeated missed dates (4.25 years and counting). You would think that as a Minnesota Sports Fan I would be used to letdown by now.... lol).

There have been no shortage of letdowns on the max pack configuration. It's been 4:75 years for me so I took my other R1S order to hold me over since my truck finally died at 260K (miles).
i highly doubt it will be this year as they haven't even released the updated pack size yet. If it was 180kwh they would be advertising a much higher range number (easily 450+ miles).
