Depends on how long since the demo was built. Who knows what they kept the charge level at and given how bad the vampire drain is, it wouldn't take long to get down to zero which isn't good either. In general it assumes that Rivian employees are actually attentive to the demo vehicles and active check on SoC, and that they even understand the battery charge level implications in the first place. An actual owner might care more.

That seems unusual in 2025. Check your purchase contract carefully.

Used has a return policy. Not so sure what sort of policy is in place for Demo vehicles. I would get that demo return policy with mileage allowance in writing.

Pre-owned vehicles may be returned within 7 days or 500 miles (whichever comes first) in the same condition as delivered. Returns must be made to the same Service Center that delivered the vehicle.
