Clean them up and ask Bring A Trailer to put them on their auction. You'll get a North American audience and a market price. Porsche wheels sell there regularly, so why not Rivian wheels. Don't break up the set, you'll ruin the value. See bringatrailer.com

I just picked one up for $100 from an R1T owner who changed out to 20's. Ordered a Michelin tire so I can have one spare. This was lowest price I had seen. He told me he sold one other one and hoping to unload all 4.

Damm. I guess my $300 per is way overpriced for 21" now :)

This is sad for me, I bought a new 21" from Rivian for a spare in my R1T. I paid retail! This is back when no one even had any tires! So, I bought with a Pirilie Scorpion Verde on it! about $1100.

I considered a set but then looked at the price of the replacement tire and fact there are no replacement options….
I mean...there *is* A replacement option:

Personally, I'm rocking the 21s for efficiency during summer months.

I have a set of 20" aftermarkets with Nokian Outpost nAT's for winter+off-roading.

It does appear that it's harder and harder to offload the 21s. If they weren't so big, I'd grab some extras, but I already have a full-sized spare for both of my sets.

Factory 21's are quiet, comfortable, and very efficient. They aren't amazing in snow, but are excellent for everything else in my opinion. I'm surprised so many people are ditching them.

Two options for tires, costs, and availability (mostly on the Michelin).
20" will give you 100s of choices which make their OEM rims highly sought aftermarket.

I picked up a set from another forum member for $750. Tires only have about 6/32nd on them but the wheels are in good shape. I plan to have my OE 21s powder coated. Michelin makes a tire for it now that is more reasonably priced vs the OE Pirelli.
I did that and love how out turned out

My issue is that tire-and-wheel sets are too heavy for me to move around conveniently at home.

On the R1S that we bought with 21" tires, my current plan is to keep the 22" winter tires mounted until the 21" tires wear out, then buy summer tires for the 22" wheels and have Costco remount all tires when switching in fall and spring. More work for Costco, less lifting and more flexible storage for us.

We'll see if there is any market for the 21" wheels after that. I like the looks of 21" wheels, but lifting 85# isn't as easy as when I was younger....

Best to all!

Get one of your neighbours to help out. I love helping my neighbour out with his cars. I somehow ended up being one of the few "young" guys in my neighbourhood. Just helped one neighbour move his bed this weekend. Shovelled snow for a few of them last winter and take food over during bad weather. Yes, I was a Boy Scout.

What the hell is WRONG with having the 21" wheels? There are more than decent replacement tires for them. They were intended for owners who preferred maximum mileage options.
Can anyone clarify why it makes no sense to continue to rely on them? Will I be left "high and dry" someday when my OEM tires wear out and need to replace them?

Absolutely non-expert opinion here. I don't see anything wrong with the 21s. My original order was 21s but Rivian convinced me to get one from the shop and all they had was 20s. They do offer more options and look "butch." But, the milage is the worse compared to 21s. As time goes on we should see more tyre options on the 21s.
