Rather than invest in a battery for home it would be good to use the R1S as a battery backup.
Below is a link to Tesla and Ford bidirectional chargers test. The key components that would be required are a bidirectional charger, a gateway and most important bidirectional capability on the R1S. Alternatively Rivian can team up with the Tesla capability if they do not want to go in for this on their own.
I have a Tesla solar system with one powerwall battery was going to invest in a second one but waiting for the R1S capability might be a better option. No point in buying a 13.5 KWh battery when a 130+ KWh battery is just standing in the house
