I'm responding partially because I think it's funny you're annoyed at notifications you subscribed to... But also to say that your Mercedes argument intrigues me, because in my head I envision two fictional people talking: one is trying to talk up the virtues of Mercedes quality and points out how "solid, firm, and decisive" the locking mechanism feels and sounds; the other says "ugh, I hate loud locks, it's like Mercedes didn't take any care when engineering the system".I don't get it. If you don't know the answer and don't care about the answer why do you feel the need to respond? Every time I get an alert that there is a new post in this thread I get excited that someone who has seen the vehicle in person may have answered my question.
But nope. It is just another person who believes that these vehicles are so poor quality that that the answer is surely unacceptable and yet at the same time is such a fanatic they are offended that someone would care about the specifics of how the vehicle works rather than having blind faith that it is worth $80,000.
The difference between a $20,000 Toyota and a $120,000 Mercedes is just 1000 little details. No one item is worth spending an extra $100,000, but But they add up to make a huge difference in the overall experience. How are people supposed to determine if there are enough of those little details to justify the $80,000 price when you can't see the vehicle in person without asking those who have?
