Hey Rivian Team (I know you're listening) and forum folks,

I wanted to share some thoughts and ask the community for some feedback. I’ve had the chance to experience a variety of AWD drivetrain systems, including the front/rear power bias in my wife’s EV6, the Driver Controlled Center Differential (DCCD) in my old Subaru WRX STi, and BMW's great xDrive. One thing I really appreciate from all these systems is how they send just a little more power to the rear wheels than the fronts.

That brings me to a request I’d love to see for future updates:

Adjustable Front/Rear Power Bias in Drive Modes

Is it technically feasible for Rivian to implement a feature that allows drivers to adjust the front/rear power distribution via a drive mode? I feel that the current front-wheel drive bias of the Rivian is a bit underwhelming in certain driving situations, particularly when overtaking or in snowy conditions. It would be amazing to have the ability to place a bit more power to the rear wheels in certain situations, even if it’s just a subtle tweak. A mode that favors the rear-wheel bias could enhance the truck’s premium feel and improve its performance in those moments. Perhaps an onscreen slider for front/rear bias split??

Bonus Request: Alexa Control for Power Mirrors

Another small but useful feature request: could we get the ability for Alexa to control the folding of the power mirrors? I know Alexa can open the trunk and perform other tasks, but it would be so helpful to ask Alexa to fold the mirrors when I'm pulling into the garage. Right now, the mirror control is buried a bit in the settings slider, so being able to use voice commands would be a real time-saver.

I’d love to hear if anyone else feels the same way or if anyone has insight into how feasible these updates might be from a technical standpoint.

Rivian, Thanks for considering this request! I also Appreciate this community for being so responsive!

Best

Rivian might be shipping something like this in the gen2 quad motor, but they've been pretty tight lipped about features beyond this blurb.

That said, my gen1s are pretty easy to powerslide the rear out on if the road conditions are correct or I turn off stability control.

oh wow! Some programming for the Gen 1 would do the trick. I hope Rivian gives us Gen 1 early adopters some love. I am digging the roll stiffness and ride height fine tuneing! I would love to settle the rear of the truck a bit more to get the stance "correct"!

Add Alexa control over the vent preset positions to my wish list. I was one of the early people to ask for those presets, which we eventually got, but still waiting on the ability to select via Alexa.

I think the drive modes already do that but it is a preset amount.

I love how Tesla does on my Plaid and 3 Performance. I can turn the Plaid into a 700HP RWD drift car or keep it AWD with 1k horsepower, or somewhere in between. Absolutely great fun to drift it just before I need to replace the tires.

So, YES! Count me in on front-to-rear power bias.

I mentioned this in another thread, but being able to adjust drive modes and suspension height by voice command would be nice.

All until your kids (or coworkers) yell to shift to Conserve or Off-Road when you're on an on-ramp...

I don't see any drivetrain-related commands ever being supported by voice commands.

I could see limits for drive modes like between AP and Sport where you aren't dealing with the couplers and are already in AWD mode.

I can do the suspension height adjustment by voice on my Tesla. It is convenient.
