Dropracks Installed

With the RTT over the bed, my wife and I wanted an easy way to load/unload the kayak.
We decided to go with a droprack xl.

You need 2 Thule parts to attach the rack to the R1T roof. Part # 710701 and #187139. Assembly and mounting was not difficult.

I have noticed a fair amount of wind noise when nothing is on the rack. With the kayak loaded there is less noise. I am looking into a wind deflector options to see if it makes a difference.

With an empty rack the range impact is very small. However it only takes 2 people to remove and reinstall. Even with the rack and kayak the range impact is maybe 5%.

That’s really great! Thanks. A little wind noise is worth the ease of lifting two kayaks on the roof IMO. I guess you might compare these with the Thule Hullavator but I’m not sure you could even get two of those on the roof.

I ordered my drop racks March 9th. I received the connecting bar kit last week,but the drop racks are MIA. I reached out the team and they are MIA too.

What was your shipping time? Do they always take forever to ship, looking at the reviews on the site, it seems it took some people months to get theirs?

Very cool design. Reminds me a little of the commercial ladder racks available for utility vans.

Yea...I haven't heard or received any updates on my dropracks in over a month. The company turned to shit and ghosted me. I'm doing a chargeback.

I gave them 3 months. They went radio silent, sent messages, emails, and tried calling them, nothing. I think they went out of buisness or something. So I did a charge back.
