It seems the recent software updates took care of a lot of gripes mentioned in multiple early (2021) Rivian reviews, and there is a lot of other low hanging fruit that will be fixed soon. I lot of these reviewers need to go back and amend some of those because they are wrong just at the point where production is ramping up. Rivian is still getting buzz and those vids are the first place perspective buyers look (though personally, I always check the date before watching, for proper context.)

Example of Rivan trying to deal with the vampire in latest OTA update..

"influencer" reviews aren't worth the time for any serious viewer. They are all the same "OMG" surface-level BS going for clicks. Heck most of the so-called "serious" YouTube car channels are useless screaming over fake outrage and "ooh look at the pretty colors and lights". ?

Well, some of these guys are the reason Rivan made the change in the first place. In fact one of the recent updates cited 'Thanks, Zack" right in the release notes. Just saying, Zack should go back and amend, or at least acknowledge the update (and take credit), not just make a new vid with the update.

Which early reviews are you looking at and do they specify model year? It's easy to just say the 2023 model year has all these improvements for a new review (even if most/all of the improvements are still relevant for MY 2022 ).

You should be thanking these "influencers" for bringing as much attention to these issues as possible.

You believe they should go back and amend their reviews, why? Those issues did exist at the time of their reviews.

Why do you care so much about YouTube reviews anyways? Are you a share holder that bought stock during their IPO and hoping to recoup your losses? Do you really believe these Youtube reviews are negatively impacting the stock price?

I am not aware of any significant changes associated with model year change for R1. Are you? I do know their have been many OTA improvements and lots of incremental changes to the vehicle (trunk power, removal of tonneau, etc), but to the best of my knowledge none were directly associated with the model year.

If people are searching for reviews on a truck they are going to order today, a 2022 reviewed today is going to be functionally identical, but the typical person isn't going to go searching for reviews on a 2022 truck if they are looking to make a purchase or reservation on a new vehicle today.

Funnily enough, neither of those issues are actually fixed with this update. My vampire drain actually got worse and the tow range is still totally inaccurate.

I believe one could prove in a court of law that social media influencers affect the price of stocks. The effects are enormous I don't even think that would be up for debate. If I had 30 minutes I would site half dozen references where influencers were penalized by the SEC and or others for influencing stock prices.
I'm not saying OP is right that they should be amending old content just that for better or worse social media is where many people source their "news" and the line in nearly completely obscured in many peoples eyes as to which is which.

Publicity with some negatives sells more than no publicity. Tesla has sold a lot of vehicles and a lot of FSD upgrades because of the coverage of various accidents where FSD may have been used.

Almost all newer vehicle, including ICE, have reviews reporting major issues.

Influencers don't do anything unless it gets attention and views. Revising old reviews doesn't accomplish that.

Reviewers can only review the vehicle they have - not what the vehicle might/will become with updates.

The people/organizations that need to update their reviews are CarAndDriver and MotorTrend for having what seems to be incorrect information regarding the capability to achieve 300kw of charging on the current hardware that Rivian has not confirmed anywhere else. It seems relatively clear (to me at least) that Rivian was talking about the RAN chargers themselves, and MT and C&D took that to mean the current R1 vehicles.
