British electric vehicle company BEDEO specializes in turning diesel vans into hybrids thanks to smart in-wheel motor tech. And its latest project—an electric Land Rover Defender conversion—could see its tech wind up on your driveway.

I love EV restomods. Those old Defenders are so cool.

This is really exciting EV technology. Hub electric motors are getting better and better. This concept was developed by the electric bicycles and one wheel scooter boards.

This concept makes retrofitting of ICE vehicles as EV's a reality. The removal of an ICE engine may provode the space for a substantial battery pack.

These are indeed exciting times.

You can also find electric axles... An axle with an electric motor attached at the differential. Less expensive than hub motors.
Canadian company Magna (and others) make them in car and truck sizes.
Edison Electric Motors Canada will also be offering this type of retrofits with Chinese electric axles.

That said, I'd really like to see a real Land Rover new EV design.
