I used a free park charger yesterday. Walked around for about 1.5 hours, added almost 25 miles. There was one other spot, empty. Might do it again this afternoon.

Beats sitting on the coach, as long as the weather is nice.

I went for a 3 mile walk while on a conference call down the bike path where the chargers were. It was quite nice.

Guess that depends on the gender of the coach, your preference and marital status...:CWL:

I don’t think the OP can blame Putin since the price increase is way more than any other locale. I would suspect his states policies have had a big impact.

It's a direct result of natural gas supply constraints due to the war in Ukraine and the resulting price increase globally. We get most of our electricity here in New England from natural gas generation.

So yeah, I can blame him.

You sound like the type that will sit on a DCFC station until 100% with a line of cars waiting to use it.
Actually I’m the type who doesn’t use fast charging at all. I’m also the type who can’t stand other people who think they get to tell others how to use public things or who can or cannot use things that are supposed to be available to all.

There was nothing in my post saying it was okay to sit on a fast charger while full so your comment is stupid. Do better.

I have not used public fast charging yet so I cannot say much. For me, it's more about being considerate to others. If no one is there to use the charger, take advantage as much as you can.

Oof you don't sound pleasant. I know Rivians and EVs are exciting but if you live in an apartment/condo and your job or some other place doesn't have charging infrastructure, maybe you should rethink your vehicle purchase until things change.
As for your comment about who deserves the charging spot. Everyone who can charge there should be able to charge their vehicle there. 80% or 100....unless it is stated otherwise. Glad we don't have to listen to people like you who make up your own absolutes. Be decent..

Funny how other states have not had the massive increase you have. Massachusetts is special!

I think it's hit NY too... but I can't tell since I'm on solar and my bill is $15/month regardless of $/kWh costs. My bro in-law recently said his electric bill went up $150/month and he doesn't have an EV.

Real Time and Day Ahead Electricity prices are way up. New England may be more so if they don't have the natural gas supplies the Mid Atlantic does. Prices are much higher than they were 1 year ago. Public Utility Commissions may limit rate increases in certain states, and less so, in others.

Got notice form SCE (Southern CA) that rate increases take effect this month, hopefully a lot of people in SoCal has gone to solar recently.

Here are the painful TOU Prime plan rates….

Wow, and I was pissed that our rates increased to 9.7 cents/kWh.

I used one of the Rivian Level 2 chargers and any EV can charge for free there. Saw a Tesla using the one next to me. There is a 4 hr time limit though
