EV Play Canbus causing random vehicle errors

I've had EVPlay installed for almost 2 months in my Gen 2 R1S. No vehicle issues until the spooky update. I was driving 3 days ago and while at a stop light I got an error that put the R1S in limp mode. I thankfully exited the road. A hard reboot cleared it.

Thought it was random.

Hours later other multiple total random errors.

Both times I was stopped with EV Play/Apple Car Play displayed. Both times a hard reboot cleared everything. I have driven since in similar conditions without EV Play/ Carplay being active and have had no issues.

Coincidence or anyone else?

CarPlay is running whether or not it is displayed on the Rivian Infotainment screen.

I’m running EV Play, with latest Rivian update, and Comma 3x. While I’ve had struggles with both EV Play and Comma 3x, I’ve never had that error.

EV Play for me is now on stable software/firmware.

With both I’ve seen issues after my R1T naps, where I drive the truck, park for up to an hour or so and then drive again. Some of us suspect Rivian is slow to awaken and starts after EV Play or Comma, causing an issue.

You may have a unique bug or it might be only coincidental to EV Play.

I'm also running EVPlay as well as Comma 3x. Rivians all give random errors at times and I see no difference between having EVPlay and Comma or what it was like before.

Uninstall your EVPlay and see if any of these errors occur. Until then, consider adding a question mark to the end of your post title.

I should have been more explicit. I believe when Evie play is an operation and CarPlay is active. That’s when they can
bus is being monitored from my observation. EV play seems to one which screen is active by the button press.

Not sure what your point is as it's hard to follow the logic on this (speech to text)? My point is that you haven't proven a causal relationship but are stating in your title that EVPlay is causing the problem. That doesn't seem fair to the developer of EVPlay.
