Someone walked away from it before ...hmmm. perhaps it was the suspension??!

I think it stinks if they give you a shit car and then say you lose your pre-March price if you don't take it.

Personally I'd say no thanks and take my business elsewhere.

It's important to note that it's not like somebody drove the truck 500 or even 50 miles and returned it.
  • As noted earlier, you do get full warranty; marginal risk.
  • Upon delivery you have 7 days to return. Doing so puts you in the same position as you would be if you reject it out of hand; no risk.
  • *For me*, pre-march pricing (and tax reduction?) covers virtually anything that discovered after the 7 days, and not covered by warranty. Whatever that could be. No risk.
  • Do you want yellow? Gone if you refuse.
  • Do you want to have that talk with your wife? Or rephrasing, if I understand you correctly, do you really want a Rivian?
While I might always wonder what was going on in the 6 months, I don't see any *real* risk besides the emotional. Not being able to simply walk up, inspect and choose a vehicle on the lot is one of the real (and few) downsides of the "no dealer" model. But only you can determine how that works for you personally.

If I were in your shoes and had post-March pricing, I would likely asses the situation differently. In that case waiting a little longer for a different color would work......for me.

P.S. I've had my R1T about 10 months. I *believe* I have developed a "suspension problem" recently. My left front suspension appears to loose pressure over night. I've not yet actually measured and am not worried about it getting fixed in the least. After I do a little testing to verify my eye is correct, I'll document the problem and open a ticket. Others have reported such and got it fixed.

Honestly I am not sure why people are so negative on this. OP has a QM in Yellow, that configuration probably has the least demand right now (not that I agree because it wouldn't be my last choice) that has been discontinued, it shouldn't be a surprise that it's not a brand new VIN.

The suspension issue is probably nothing, and even if it is something more major coming from someone who has had major suspension work I wouldn't worry about it, it will get fixed and be perfect either way.

Be patient (I know it's hard) and I am sure it will all work out. Ignore the Negative Nancy's until you have more information. Best of luck on getting your truck.
