Ford Increasing F150 Lightning Prices Again

IMO Rivian is still under priced and with this increase the Lightning is a tad overpriced. I have driven both and my personal preference is that the Rivian is more valuable than the Ford and I like the Ford as well. I still keep going back to the fact that Tesla MX sells for substantially more than an R1S. I think the R1S is vastly better than MX.

I’m sorry the cybertruck can’t do any of those things for you. I know you were very interested in its capabilities. It’s probably for the best though - it would just frighten any animals you have on your farm…and people.

I just got an invite to configure my F-150 Lightening (deposit 6/16/2021).

Having had many Ford vehicles (and still have a classic Mustang convertible), I can't imagine what Ford is smoking. $100k for a Platinum?

I haven't checked recently but at these prices, I doubt there is an aftermarket demand for the Lightening.

Ford is letting me order an XLT this time. Extended battery with 312A standard paint prices at $83,400. I'm tempted to order it with the standard battery and just make the truck dedicated to my larger "farm" property.


ETA: standard battery with 311A and lower propower (2.4 kWh versus 9.6) prices at under 68k.

XLT Standard Range is the sweet spot. On paper it looks like the worst value, but it’ll have the best payload and towing capacity. It’ll be lighter and drive better. You won’t have to deal with the frustrating vertical screen, and you get additional comforts.

Having owned both ends if I could hit the reset button, that’s where I would land.

I'd put down more cash if they sold a power upgrade for the quads. They probably didn't leave anything on the table though.

Yesterday I got my second invite to finalize my Lightning order. I got one last fall but passed on it. Didn't respond or do anything. Ford never sent me a followup the first time saying they would extend the invite, automatically refund, put me at the end of the queue, etc.

This time it says that if I don't place an order by April 24 they will refund my deposit. Still holding out for the R1S.....

Got my confirmation email to order as well, but no chance as I’ve already taken delivery of the R1T. But, given their current pricing, would have balked at it anyways.

There are several new and several lightly used Lightnings on dealer lots within 50 miles of me that are priced at MSRP (slightly less for the used ones) I don't think passing on a Ford Preorder is as consequential as passing on a Rivian preorder particularly if you have the early Rivian price.
