I'll admit that I could have been nicer in my initial post, and so I apologize for starting things off that way. But I do ask that anyone who reads this post to consider their actions when driving. A quick picture or text may only take a few seconds, and most of the time there will be no consequences. But driving a 7,000 lbs vehicle is no joke. If you do use your phone when driving, for the sake of others on the road, please take a moment to reconsider that choice.

To give you a fuller, ahem, ”picture” of the situation, that image was captured about 100’ from an intersection. I had the camera up and ready to snap when the light turned green, so it was already in position but I didn’t hit Click for a few seconds since I was focusing on driving.

On highway 1 today heading North. From my RB OC … I was on the phone but trying my best to wave and smiling the entire time.

Coming back from skiing on the Taconic parkway in New York last weekend someone with exact build (LG, BM) passed by. We pulled our windows down and waived. What is the official Rivian greeting, huh?

That’s exactly why we don’t need it. If you’ve made it to the age where You can afford to buy a Rivian yet you don’t know that you aren’t supposed to be using your phone while driving there’s no hope
For you.

Everyone already knows they aren’t supposed to do that, just like we aren’t supposed to launch at lights and we probably shouldn’t speed either. What I can confidently say is that compared to most of the people I see driving around I’m a far better driver than the majority for certain, regardless of what I’m doing with my phone.

Personally I don’t use my phone much at all while driving and don’t even really mess with the infotainment while driving. Where I live the roads are all in the foothills of mountains so you can’t really get away with it even if you wanted to. That’s not really the point though, the point is adults are past the sanctimonious speeches being effective thing.
