I see this post as implying that the R1S is less of a value than the MX and I cannot help but disagree. You didn't spend thousands to avoid dealing with Elon, you spent those thousands for a superior vehicle. Teslas were good when they were the only game in town. They rested on those laurels and now everyone else is past them in every regard besides driver assistance features.
Certainly didn't mean to imply the R1S isn't a great vehicle. But 30k is a lot. The main reason was muskrat but the half shafts, tie rods and tire life played a role as well. I must admit the MX is a little goofy looking.

Same thoughts on my 23Dec R1T, at almost 20K I still get excited for updates with new features.
I leased a Y for daughter and if you extrapolate the 5 years of evolution in just that vehicle or 16 years of Tesla evolution, it's amazing to see what Rivian will become with R2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9.
