Depends on the exact model. Some can do it with just the learn button, some require the remote. Look up your model's manual and see if the learn button will do it.

Worst case, learn button should let you program a new remote - buy a compatible one cheap off eBay, program it, then use that to program the vehicle.

It is compatible and works well with my garage door opener. Pairing is easy and is done using the garage remote.

I use MyQ and it still works for me. I setup my Riv using the learn button via the remote. I don’t recall having to do anything within MyQ.

Oh, and make sure your truck is either all the way in or just outside the garage. I ~almost~ made a boo-boo by starting the process when the truck was half in, half out. I never claimed to be smart.

It took me way to long to understand why you suggested this ... honestly I thought it was for GPS/auto suggesting by location and moved on. It wasn't until I read through the rest of the thread .. "ooooohh"

I could not get mine set up with the learn button. I bought a cheap replacement remote and used it to pair with the Rivian. Worked perfectly.

Some of the terminology I am reading in this thread does not align with my 2026 Rivian prompts. . I Had a problem with getting my R1S joined with an Aladdin Genie opener and it really just boiled down to one detail missing from the instructions Rivian guides you through on the app Once you hold the Genie remote near the mirror and hold the button for 5 seconds or so until the Rivian screen acknowledges it is linked to the remote what is missing from the next step in the instructions is they do not tell you to then go to the genie opener at that point and press the learn button until the LED ‘s go from green to flashing purple. Then and only then do you go back and do the signal 1, signal 2 and signal 3 steps. However the real problem with some Genie openers like my 7155 is that the learn button is not always positioned over the button on the circuit card beneath it ( I was not getting the flashing purple when I depressed it). The Genie tech had me remove the motor cover and press the button on the circuit card directly once it was exposed. That did the trick to get the flashing purple. Once I reinstalled the cover I came to realize once again it did Not work when I reassembled the cover. They did ask me if it was a blue or green circuit card. Mine was blue so I am not sure if that is an indicator to them that there is an alignment issue but removing the cover and depressing the button on the circuit card directly did the trick.

I think the alternate setup Rivian attempts when the first one failed would work if in fact the learn button on the Genie worked with the cover on.
Again the terminology the Genie rep used was she kept telling me to hit the test. There is no test button shown in the Rivian procedure. We then just assumed selecting the signal 1,2 and 3 was equivalent to what Genie refers to as Test.
