I recently had my door handles replaced - and a few days later I noticed that the touch sensor was missing on the passenger side door handle.
Rivian R1T R1S Gen 2 Missing Door Handle Touch Sensor? 1000017405

For reference, here's that little indentation where the touch sensor lives.

Has anyone else noticed that? Did Rivian redesign the part? Is it missing for everyone? Or is this yet another casualty on dual motor trims (like the suede headliner and the passenger under seat compartment)

Heard back from the SC - apparently it's COMPLETELY random which vehicles have it and which ones don't. They did a walk around to look at other gen 2s, and there's no consistency.

I looked in the owners manual and it calls out "push to unlock" only on the driver's side. So now I'm beginning to question. when I've touched the passengers side before, has it ACTUALLY been touch sensitive? Or is it only coincidence that It decided to wake up and unlock.

Has anyone else used (or tried to use) the touch sensor on the passenger side?

I don't have meaningful input here but how "completely random" is it?

I can understand if some vehicles have it and some don't. But I'd be irritated if HALF of my car had it and the other half didn't.

Every vehicle has it on the driver's door. The passenger door is the one in question. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to which ones have it and which ones don't. And for the ones that do, it seems it might not be functional anyway. Just an indentation with no function. It's a tiny enough detail, it took me almost a week to realize it had disappeared from my passenger door.

I spoke with service about it a while back and they also confirmed the push-to-unlock feature only works on the drivers door. I was expecting both doors to have the same functionality, which prompted my question to the service team initially.
