What I'm referring to here is the dynamic high beam. When a car is approaching a notch will appear around the oncoming vehicle so the high beams can continue operating everywhere else, without blinding other drivers. I've got some dashcam footage I will upload tonight to demonstrate
oh wow didn't know that, very cool!

After experiencing a few night drives with the Gen 2 over the past few weeks I was really surprised how little posting there was about this - maybe I'm easily impressed but I thought this was the coolest thing in the world, watching the headlights cut out other cars and expand and contract. I can see how it might be distracting but it is one of my favorite things about the Gen 2. Personally I have never been able to see better at night.

I wish I could see a head-on shot of the headlights and see the LED show in action.

I somehow didn’t know my gen2 had this and shrieked like a kid on Christmas morning when I saw it in action. It's really cool but also is very useful on a bunch of my regular drive.

Not really sure how "being able to see further in the distance" would be a distraction. Isn't that literally what you want? My Polestar 2 had the matrix headlights, but they never enabled them before I sold it. I could have done an out-of-band update to enable them, but I never bothered. Just the way the auto-brights ramped up in intensity was pretty cool.

This is exactly why I wanted to post about it! I'm surprised how little this is being talked about - SO COOL. And the fact that it's the first in the US!
